Tehimpuls will have an intermediary and facilitative role in the development of collaborative projects between enterprises and research, development, and innovation institutions. Research projects will be co-financed by he industry, which may also demand certain research projects to be conducted.

This particular service will increase cooperation among the regional small and medium enterprises and the research, development and innovation (RDI) institutions. As a result, both actors’ performance will increase, ensuring, on one hand, easier access to research-development-innovation expertise for enterprises, and on the other hand, accurate research based on the specific needs of enterprises.

The components of the service for development of collaborative projects between enterprises and research, development and innovation institutions include:

• Defining the responsibilities and competences of RDI institutions in order to create a database with services which can be provided for each institution, to map out the research competences for the West Region
• Organizing brokerage events for enterprises’ middle management, to ensure contact between the academic research supply and the industrial research demand
• Building research programs for certain sectors based on the companies’ availability to participate in the program
• Organizing events (discussion and technology transfer forums/workshops) to facilitate contact and talks between the three regional actors: researchers, businesses and local/regional authorities
• Organizing training sessions to attract funding, by presenting national or European funding opportunities and ways to apply for these funds.
