Tehimpuls has studied the possibility of creating an Excellence Pole in the West Region through the Sectoral Operational Programme – Increase of Economic Competitiveness. After carefully analyzing the West Region, it has been decided that the excellence pole will address the ICT sector, due to the agglomeration of ICT firms and education programs in the area.

In addition to the founding members of Tehimpuls, the following institutions and businesses were consulted and became partners in the application of the Impact Program: Timişoara Software Business Incubator – UBIT, E-Austria Institute - Timişoara, Kathrein Institute, Realnet, Intelligent Solutions Group, OCE Software, Siemens VDO, Lasting System, Alcatel Lucent Romania.

Tehimpuls worked with the KPMG company to prepare the excellence pole strategy and the funding application for Sectoral Operational Programme – Increase of Economic Competitiveness. Also, the database of potential partners was completed and an invitation was extended to all potential partners, to participate in a goal oriented project planning (GOPP) session on August 23rd, to map out a plan for the project. The Dutch expert Charles de Monchy led the session.

As a result, a considerable number of businesses were involved, alongside Tehimpuls and KPMG, in developing a strategy for the excellence pole and the funding application for Sectoral Operational Programme – Increase of Economic Competitiveness.
