History

Tehimpuls - The Regional Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer is a non-governmental, non-profit organization, whose mission is to promote innovation and  technology transfer in the West Region.

Tehimpuls was initiated within the Regional Innovation Strategy 2002-2005, implemented by the West Regional Development Agency, being the fist innovation strategy to be implemented in Romania.

The founding members of the Tehimpuls Association are:

As a result of intense negotiations and discussions among the founding members, Tehimpuls was legally established in September 2006.

Its general objective is to increase the competitiveness of the companies in the area and to stimulate the regional economy by promoting innovation and technological development and shaping the regional market to make it responsive to innovation and technology.

Acting as a regional interface, Tehimpuls proposes strategic links with major regional partners.

The service package offered by Tehimpuls includes:

  • Assistance in developing innovative projects and commercializing the research results
  • Assistance in developing collaborative projects between SMEs and RDI centers
  • Raising awareness towards innovation and technological development in the West Region

The desired impact of Tehimpuls:

  • The creation of certain mechanisms to ensure the coordination of policies and the active involvement of all partners
  • The support of a partnership between public and private organisations to facilitate the access to capital for both technologically developed and start-up businesses (encouragement of “business angels” initiatives, investment capital, risk capital, etc.)
  • The facilitation of the access to national and European funds and financing programs for innovation projects
  • An increase in innovation excellence (innovation management within SMEs, promoting new innovating SMEs)
  • An increase value added in production (technological and non-technological aspects of innovation: organizational innovation, innovating marketing)
  • Promoting the use of property rights, trademarks, patents, quality standard, etc by the enterprises
  • Promoting consumers’ trust with respect to innovative products and services
  • Lobbying for legislation to stimulate and encourage innovation
  • Promoting a dynamic knowledge-based market: the regional innovation system, innovative enterprises clusters, participation in international networks which promote innovation
